The sevdesk headquarters are taking shape
SaaS company and building owner Hurrle celebrate topping-out ceremony
Offenburg, 21 July 2023. sevdesk GmbH has reached an important milestone in the construction of its new Offenburg headquarters: together with the developers from Hurrle Immobilien, the city of Offenburg and other partners, sevdesk GmbH is celebrating the topping-out ceremony. On the former CANVAS 22 slaughterhouse site in Offenburg, not only a company headquarters is being built, but also a think tank with an innovative character: urban location, sustainable construction and smart thinking. In the near future, the CANVAS site will be home to other young companies, founders and start-ups - bringing together entrepreneurship and a wealth of ideas. ‘Our new sevdesk headquarters is an impressive example of how a small start-up can develop into an important and innovative employer in the region. Digitalisation has become a significant factor for the Ortenau economy. My co-founder Fabian Silberer and I are proud that companies like sevdesk are also helping to increase the attractiveness of our location for start-ups in the digital sector,’ explains Marco Reinbold, co-founder and co-CEO of sevdesk.
Almost exactly one year ago, construction work began on site and the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for the first building of CANVAS 22 was held. The future sevdesk headquarters, located directly on the Mühlbach stream, is now hard to miss. The building is being constructed using a hybrid construction method, with the use of prefabricated wooden ceiling elements making a significant contribution to shortening the construction phases. ‘We are delighted with the smooth progress of the construction work and the fact that we are on schedule,’ explained Thomas Ganter, shareholder and Managing Director of Hurrle Fonds GmbH & Co. KG from Oberkirch. ‘In view of the challenges posed by the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and inflation, keeping to the construction schedule is a major achievement.’
Special attention is now being focussed on the extension of the façade. This not only fulfils the requirements of outstanding architecture, but also of sustainable building culture. The planned façade greening will form part of the neighbourhood's surrounding green belt, one of the many objectives of the urban planning competition. The Hurrle Immobilien Group is confident that the building will be completed by the end of this year and that the approx. 5,500 m² of usable space can be handed over to sevdesk at the beginning of 2024.
With the opening of the new headquarters on the CANVAS campus, sevdesk offers its employees a place to work where successful collaboration is fun and where ideas can be exchanged and strategies developed cleverly and efficiently. ‘Because our vision for New Work includes personal responsibility, realising potential through individual and collective development, an open error culture and, last but not least, a great deal of passion for what we do,’ adds Co-Founder and Co-CEO Fabian Silberer.
