Cegid expands its European footprint in cloud-based Micro and SMB Business Management software with completion of its acquisition of sevdesk in the DACH region.
Appoints sevdesk CEO and co-founder Marco Reinbold to general manager of Cegid’s DACH operations, driving continued extension of Cegid’s pan-European leadership position following other recent acquisitions in France, Spain and Portugal.
Paris, 6th February 2025 – Cegid, a European leader in cloud management solutions for finance (ERP, treasury, tax), human resources (payroll, talent management), accountancy, retail and entrepreneurship, has completed its previously announced acquisition of sevdesk to provide Micro and SMB businesses in the DACH region with next-generation pre-accounting, accounting, e-invoicing, and online tax declaration software solutions.
In connection with close of the transaction, Marco Reinbold, Co-Founder and CEO of sevdesk has been appointed by Cegid to the role of General Manager for the DACH region. Fabian Silberer, Co-Founder of sevdesk, will continue to actively support the new entity as advisor for the growth strategy in the SMB segment across Europe and both Co-Founders are reinvesting substantially into the combined entity.
sevdesk is a leading provider of next-generation integrated business management software applications, serving over 130,000 Micro and SMB customers and accounting and tax advisory professionals, supporting over €85 billion of invoiced transactions to date. The acquisition of sevdesk underscores Cegid’s continued international growth by expanding its existing offerings in German-speaking Europe, the largest European software sector with over 5 million Micro and SMB businesses and rapidly accelerating demand for cloud software solutions and e-invoicing compliance.
"Millions of businesses in the DACH region are adapting to the upcoming electronic invoicing reforms and now, together with sevdesk, Cegid is uniquely positioned to help those businesses effectively navigate a rapidly accelerating digitalization journey. With our recent acquisitions of leading software and digitalization solutions across Europe, we are excited to provide even better support to more customers across their business management software needs," said Pascal Houillon, CEO of Cegid.
The acquisition of sevdesk underscores Cegid’s strong strategic growth focus in the Micro and SMB businesses segment, in line with recently announced acquisitions of PHC Business Software in Portugal, as well as the acquisitions of EBP in France and Microdata in Spain, consistent with the acceleration of Cegid's pan-European growth strategy in this attractive segment as well as its ambition as a pan-European leader.
